September, 2017

As part of United Way of King County’s Day & Night of Caring, on September 15, SJI hosted a computer training for Career Pathways and CareerConnect program participants. Thanks to a generous donation from the City of Seattle, ten participants were able to take home new laptops to aid their education and job search experience, after receiving training from a computer professional!

Joined by ten volunteers from Tata Consultancy Services with extensive technological knowledge, we were able to provide a computer training for participants before taking their new laptop home. Volunteers helped set up computers and accounts, walked through programs like Microsoft Excel and Outlook, and answered questions about hardware.

Being connected with skilled volunteers is one of the greatest aspects of Day of Caring – our participants left with their questions answered and ready to use their new laptop as they navigate school and their job search.  Thank you United Way of King County, Tata Consultancy Services, the City of Seattle, and our participants for making the day possible and so much fun!
