Seattle Jobs Initiative provides work supports to the students in our training programs who need them the most. We often refer students to community resources that can assist with energy and utilities, food, childcare, counseling, and/or transportation. In some situations, this assistance is what makes suceeding in full-time work possible.
Each individual’s need will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, and support will only be given to participants who demonstrate a strong desire to succeed over the long-term.
Seattle Jobs Initiative and its partners can provide:
- Case management services
- Basic services such as resources for food
(WA Basic Food Program) and shelter
- Services that support employment such as childcare, housing, transportation, and counseling for alcohol and drug abuse
- Extra basic skills training in math, reading and basic computer literacy to enhance student's success in training programs as well as job selection potential (Cornerstone Program)
- Wealth development support including financial literacy training, Individual Development Accounts and Working Wheels
